Full day trips: Paría

Combined day trips:

A great option is to combine multiple destinations into one tour. We leave the Posada in the morning, drive south- east through “el Pilar” and reach the hot springs of “agua sana”, where we relax in the warm waters. Here you can choose from 16 different “pozos” with thermal water.

A few kilometers east we come to the buffalo ranch “Rio de Agua”, within the savanna de Paría, which is a most interesting landscape. Here we can see a lot of birds and do a short canoe trip in the channels. Recently a little caiman with babies has been spotted.

We follow a beautiful road that passes through the jungle, until we reach the fantastic beach of Medina.

In the afternoon, on the way back, we have a stop at Billy’s cocoa plantation. Here we see how they plant and grow cocoa and how they make great chocolate out of it. As well we try a lot of different specialties that they have prepared with this extremely pure, natural product.

The way home brings us through the nice town of “Rio Caribe” and back to the Posada.

Cost: $ 72 for up to 4 persons, each extra person $18, for our transportation service. This includes a packed lunch and drinks.
