The Posada Nena lis located in a little beach village, called "Playa Copey", where you'll find about a hundred houses, some Restaurants, the beach shops and a couple of posadas. The city of Carúpano is at 7 kilometres distance.

Transportation:

In Venezuela, there are two international Airports, which are served from United States and Europe:Maiquetia, the Airport from Caracas, and Porlamar, the Airpot on the Caribbean Island from Margarita.

At the international Airport Simon Bolívar from Maiquetia, nearly every  well known Airline is serving: From United States  there are American, Continental  and Delta Airlines, from Europe there are Lufthansa, Air France, BA, TAP, Al Italia and Iberia. From all over the South American continent, there international connections.

The public transportation system in Venezuela is very good. Nearly every small town has it's own Airport; there are fine, luxurary buses for long distance travelling, as well so called "por puestos" for short rides.

If you travel in a luxurary bus, be aware of wearing warm clothes, these buses always have very well working air conditioners and they use it.

Security

Venezuela is not the safest travel country in the world, otherwise, it's not true, that it is so dangerous, like told by embassies and travel guides. There are a lot of security and political problems in Venezuela, but a traveller is not part of this world, so usually there is no danger. Sure you have to keep some rules- nothing else, you should do in any place of the world.

A classical example are the tourists, coming to Caracas Airport and getting robbed in the cab. Usually people only lose their money and fear their lives, but it's better to avoid it. The Caracas Airport is the most dangerous place for travellers in Venezuela and it is easy not to get involved. Don't get into a cab, that's not from the official taxi line (black Ford Explorers) or even better, call someone to pick you up and bring you to your Hotel.  We can help you.

As well you can try to go on by plane, the same day you come to Venezuela, so in the early afternoon, there are planes leaving to most places in Venezuela.

Anyway you never should look very rich, don't accept people helping you at the cash machine and don't get involved, with people they look too helpfully. No drugs and no illegal money businesses on the street and you will enjoy your holidays in Venezuela.

Health:

A lot of travelers ask me what kind of immunization they need to travel to Venezuela. It's a very important question, though you won't get never a correct answer. First ,it depends very much of the places you want to visit and second it depends of whom you'll ask. Nobody takes the risk to tell you not to make a prophylaxes and afterward you get sick. So everybody always says, that you should use any prevention possible, only not to get in problems afterwards. So, the same to me, but I live 12 years in the country now, traveling a lot around and  I'm not using nothing further the usual and got never ill. Anyway there are places in the Orinoco delta, very inside and the gold mines in the amazons, where you can get infected with malaria or other bad diseases. It's recommended to get an immunization against yellow fever, because of the very dangerous the illness is, and the simple the protection works.
